Metal Extraction

Betolar's Metal Extraction Technology

Betolar’s metal extraction technology enables the recovery of critical and strategic metals from industrial sidestreams such as smelter slags and mine tailings. Testing has demonstrated recovery rates of up to 99%, significantly increasing the amount of valuable metals that can be captured from materials that were previously underutilized.

The process is designed to be highly energy-efficient, requires no water, and generates no waste, every material fed into the process is fully utilized. In addition to metals, the same process produces circular cement, which replaces traditional cement and supports substantial global CO₂ reduction.

The technology is built on strong R&D foundations, combining thermodynamic modeling, slag chemistry optimization, smelting and reduction trials, microstructural analysis, and AI-assisted material modeling. This integrated approach enables processing at lower temperatures, better viscosity control for high metal yields, and consistent quality of the circular cement.

Betolar’s solution generates significant value for metal producers by capturing metals that would otherwise remain unused, while also reducing environmental liabilities and lowering dependence on virgin raw materials.

Importantly, the technology also strengthens national and regional self‑sufficiency in critical raw materials, reducing reliance on geopolitically sensitive supply chains and supporting industrial resilience.
